CHRISTMAS EDITION 2025
‘Merry Christmas, Everyone”
Christmas is nearly upon us and preparations are well underway both on and off the pitch.
On the pitch, we’ve reached the halfway point in the season for all teams.
Both senior men’s teams have had a mixed bag of results with 4 wins from 8 games. Currently sitting in mid table in their respective league tables, all teams are capable of beating each other, and a strong string of positive results in the new year will swing positions quickly. What has been great to see is the number of former youth players who have stepped up into the senior teams this season.
The senior warriors visited Wymondham in Norwich on their first tour, gaining great first has tournament experience and may look to return next year having made some good connections .
The mini and junior squads have had a busy first half, and the club has been been buzzing with sounds of boys and girls just enjoying the game. We have also had 2 new squads join the M&Js ranks with the mini warriors U9-10s and U11-12s setting up girl only teams, and just this weekend going, Vees hosted our first M&J girls “pitch up and play” session for all the clubs in Hertfordshire with 40 girls in attendance from 10 different clubs. Well done and thank you to all of the volunteers who made the day run so smoothly and in particular, Andy Robertson and Helen Small.
Off pitch, a number of squads have enjoyed team festivities, and it was great to see the return of our band nights, so very well organised by Bruce and his team.
As always, huge thanks to Mazzie B for organising the Christmas Raffle and thank you to all the children and parents who sold their tickets to raise funds for club development.
The next day for your diary is Saturday 27th December, as our annual charity match takes place. This year we will be raising money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association. Please come down to the club to support the players and raise funds for a much deserving cause.
Before then, to you all, I wish you all a lovely time over the festive period.
See you at the club for the game, or otherwise in the 2026!
