“Back to Life, Back to Reality”
It’s been a stuttering start for 2026 with the inclement weather putting pay to several weeks of rugby across the club.
Despite this, when we have been able to get out on pitch, January has been a good month for results at all levels, capped off last weekend with cup wins for the U14s, 15s and 16s.
The Senior Men’s 1st and 2nd teams are developing good squads with a number of promising young players. As always, we continue to welcome new members to the club as we look to maintain our ability to field 2 full Senior Men’s teams and our vets as well.
The Senior Warriors had their AGM this week, and the committee would like to thank Emily Hydes as she steps down from her role as Co-chair this year. We would also like to welcome Nicola Handscombe into the leadership team as she looks to co-chair the women alongside Sian and Joy. For any women keen on picking up the game, the Warriors kick back in on the 11th Feb, after their winter break. 1915 at Vees.
This weekend saw the return of the Six Nations and we are pleased to announce we will continue to show all Saturday matches at the club, with some big weekend match ups and Senior games on as well.
Some of these weekends will be managed by volunteers so please be mindful when at the club, but we encourage you to come down and watch the games as a club.
See details below and on social media for timings.
As always, huge thanks to the coaches, volunteers and organisers who give up their time and energy through the season and the speed at which they move when the weather plays havoc with well laid plans.
Happy New Year to you all,
Regards
Ian ‘Shanks’ Graham
