“IT’S OK TO LOVE WHAT YOU LOVE “

This month’s quote is taken from an episode of Channel 4's reality show “The Piano”. Nadia, a young contestant who also happens to be a female pilot, decribes her dream of flying as something that she never thought could be a reality as she was growing up as a female aviation fan. Along the same lines, Diana, an 87 year old RAF veteran finally managed to realise a lifelong dream of playing in a concert hall in front of an audience.
So what is the connection between this and Vees?
The answer is ‘Dreams’.
Many of our young players fall in love with our great game and some will have dreams of one day playing at a higher level, be it at county, national club or even for their country. Some Vees players have gone on to achieve their dreams at the highest level of whom we are incredibly proud. However, alonside their personal commitment, talent and hard work have been the volunteers that have worked with them through our youth program. The dedication of our coaches and other club support volunteers is what creates the inclusive social atmosphere our excellent club provides, that encourages the young players to strive to acheive. Thank you to you all.
My previous newsletter has signifcant coverage on the end of season activities, so I will not dwell on those and with a school holiday in progress many of you may have taken a well-earned break.
